Executive Board of National Fund for Moenjodaro meets

LARKANA: The 5th meeting of the Executive Board of National Fund for Moenjodaro (NFM) was held on Friday at Rest House Moenjodaro, which was chaired by the Sindh Minister for Culture Ms. Sassui Palijo.Sindh Secretary Culture Abdul Aziz Uqaili, Country Director, UNESCO, Islamabad Ms. Kuzu Kay Nagata, Commissioner Larkana Division, Kaleemullah Lashari, former ambassador to UAE Abdul Razzaq Soomro and Director Archaeology Sindh Qasim Ali Qasim participated in the meeting.It was decided that henceforth scouts/ volunteers will be detailed on all important holidays including Eid-ul- Fitr and Eid-ul- Azha at the site to check unwanted movement of people and to guide them properly so as to ensure protection of the remains.It was also decided to make tree plantation in the vicinity.The meeting authorised Culture Department to appoint two local tour guides, well versed in English, Urdu and Sindhi on merit, who will be paid out of NFM. They will start working on the site to facilitate the tourists particularly the foreigners.In the end, a joint meeting of the Executive Board and Technical Consultative Committee (TCC) were held to discuss the Master Plan, which was under preparation.
