BDS diffuse IED planted near UNICEF office

PESHAWAR: A terror attempt was foiled here Monday when the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) diffused Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted on a roadside near a restaurant on park road in university town Peshawar.According to police, a passer- by noticed an IED planted on roadside opposite a restaurant and near UNICEF provincial office and informed police about it.The police informed BDS that reached the spot and diffused the bomb around 11:30 am.It is pertinent to mention here that national and international NGOs and UN organizations are located in university town Peshawar that are providing humanitarian services to the marginalized and neglected segments.Copyright APP (Associated Press of Pakistan), 2013
