BNP-M threatens boycotting elections

QUETTA: Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) has threatened not to participate in general elections 2013 if incidents of killing of its workers continued and "No Go Areas" in Khuzdar were not abolished.This was stated by Acting President BNP-M, Dr Jahanzeb Jamaldini who along with the party Secretary Information Agha Hassan Baloch and other party leaders was addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here Thursday."Khuzdar has become No go area and a specific armed group is involved in killing of BNP-M activists while our party leadership and workers in Kalat were also receiving threats," he alleged.He said that although Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G. Ibrahim and caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Barozai had held meetings with BNP-M chief Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal in Karachi and assured him of providing a peaceful environment for conducting free, fair and transparent elections. However, the party was still facing difficulties in continuing its election campaign and to approach the voters.
