ECP sets up new monitoring system to hold free, fair elections

ISLAMABAD: Media Coordinator of Election Commission Khurshid Alam has said that Election Commission of Pakistan has set up a monitoring system for holding free and fair elections in the country.Talking to VOA, he said that the monitoring system is assisting the returning officers in the verification of documents of the candidates.Regarding the arrangements for the upcoming elections, Khurshid Alam said that they set up a computerized system for the verification of documents of the candidates.He said that they established a monitoring room through which they would monitor the programs of electronic media regarding the elections process; adding that the possible steps would be taken on the base of information related to the Election Commission or its activities.He said that we had a new monitoring system comprised of eight computer systems at the library room and through this system, every 48 hours programs of the eight big channels in the country were recorded and than saved them in a server.Mentioning the purpose of the system, Khurshid Alam stated that all complaints of people regarding the elections and statements of political parties against or in favour of ECP could also be monitored and than the possible action would be taken.Regarding the facilities...
