ISLAMABAD: Former DG MET Qamar uz Zaman Choudhary has said that announcing national climate change policy is an achievement of government which will help in coping the issue of global warming face by Pakistan.Talking to private news channel, he said Pakistan's contribution to green houses gases is quiet less than other countries but still its impact is strong on Pakistan.Also holding the position of Vice President of World Metrological Organization, Qamar Zaman said that main focus of "WMO" is "climate change", which is taking place after war on terror rapidly.He said that due to excessive usage of heavy weapons in war on terror the climate of South Asian region is changing notably."It effects most of the countries but developing countries including Pakistan are more vulnerable to these changes as we can see significant weather changes in last 10-15 years in all developing countries", he opined.He said that disaster frequency and intensity is also increasing day by day and the government has established Ministry of Climate Change to cope several issues regarding weather and climate changes in the country.Copyright APP (Associated Press of Pakistan), 2013
