Asad Qaisar, Imtiaz Qureshi submit papers for Speaker, Dy Speaker KP Assembly

PESHAWAR: A meeting of the parliamentary committee of Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf was held on Wednesday where they formally nominated Asad Qaiser and Imtaiz Qureshi for the office of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Khyber Pakthunkhwa Assembly.The meeting was presided over by Chief Minister-designate and Central Secretary General Pervez Khan Khattak.As per the party's decision, Asad Qaisar and Imtaiz Qureshi have submitted their nomination papers with Secretary Khyber Pakthunkhwa Assembly.The election for both the offices would be held on Thursday with secret ballots' procedure. The candidate interests in Speaker and Deputy Speaker slots can submit their nomination papers till 4 pm.Earlier, 121 newly elected members of the provincial assembly out of 124 took oath. MPAs elect Akram Khan Durrani, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and Naeema Kishwar did not take oath today due to some reason.Outgoing Speaker Kiramatullah Khan administered the oath to the newly-elected members. Later, the session was postponed for Thursday at 10 am.The PTI has already nominated Pervez Khattak as Leader of the House in KP assembly and election for CM slot would be held on Friday.Copyright APP (Associated Press of Pakistan), 2013
