Isolated rain likely in upper parts of country

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday forecast isolated rain and thunderstorm for upper parts of the country during the next 24 hours.An official of PMD informed that isolated rain and thunderstorm is expected in Malakand, Hazara division, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Islamabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.A shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of country (Upper KP, Upper Punjab, Kashmir, GB) and is likely to persist till Wednesday.Mainly dry weather will prevail in different areas of Sindh and Balochistan during the next 24 hours.The highest maximum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Shaheed Benazirabad 39 C, Sukkur, Larkana and Chhor 38C.The maximum temperatures recorded in other cities was Islamabad 29C, Lahore 33C, Karachi 31C, Peshawar 31C, Quetta 24C, Skardu 22C, Murree 19C, Muzaffarabad 29C, Gilgit 29C, Faisalabad 34C, Multan 33C and Hyderabad 37 C.The Pollen count recorded in Islamabad was 4,247 per cubic meter.The rainfall recorded during last 24 hours was Lower Dir 35mm, Parachinar 13, Dir 05, Chitral 04, Mirkhani, Drosh and Kalam 03 mm.Copyright APP (Associated Press of Pakistan), 2013
