SBP, NBP offices to stay open till late on June 28, 29

KARACHI: The field offices of State Bank of Pakistan's (SBP) Banking Services Corporation and authorised branches of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) will remain open for extended hours on 28th and 29th of this month till 12.00 a.m. (midnight) on June 30, (Sunday) for collection of taxes.NIFT will also provide two special clearing facilities on 30th of this month that is, 1st and 2nd clearing immediately after 1.30 p.m. and 12.00 a.m. midnight respectively to ensure that all tax receipts collected on June 28, 29 and 30 are credited to the Government accounts in the current month, said a SBP communique addressed to the Presidents/ Chief Executives of all banks, here on Thursday.For facilitating the collection of taxes, banks are advised to open such branches and other offices on June 30, 2013 (Sunday) till such time that it is necessary to facilitate special clearing by NIFT to be held after 1.30 p.m. and 12.00 a.m.With reference to the above special clearing arrangements, it is informed that the State Bank will only accept credit receipts related to Federal and Provincial Tax, it said.Copyright APP (Associated Press of Pakistan), 2013
