PPP leader denies media reports on award of PPP tickets

HYDERABAD: Former provincial minister and President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Hyderabad chapter, Zahid Bhurgari has said the media reports about the award of ticket to certain PPP candidates for the constituencies in Hyderabad were unfounded. Talking to the media after submitting his nomination forms for NA-221 and PS-47 here Sunday, Bhurgari said the PPP's parliamentary board was yet to make an announcement in that regard. "The final list of the candidates who have been given the party tickets will be made after the end of the scrutiny process of the nomination forms," he said. When asked about the replacement of Pir Amjad Shah Jeelani, the PPP's five times election winner from PS-50 constituency in Hyderabad Rural Taluka, with the former Sindh information minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, he denied that a decision has been taken so far. "Memon was born in Tandojam area of Hyderabad Rural and he spent all his life in Hyderabad," he said to defend his candidature from PS-50 when questioned why an outsider was being given the ticket.
