KMC Administrator addresses meeting of DCs, MCs

KARACHI: KMC Administrator Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi has said that KMC and five DMCs should complete the budget of next year by May 15.He said this while addressing a meeting of Deputy Commissioners, Municipal Commissioners and senior officers, said a statement issued on Friday evening.The amount for salaries to DMCs was released therefore employees' salaries and pensions should be released immediately.The KMC and DMCs should complete assessment of their assets, employees and dues of contractors in one week and the deducted amount for pension from the salaries of ZMC employees should be provided to KMC.The Administrator Karachi said that four departments of Health, Education, Community Development and Local Taxes should place focal persons of their departments who could decide with officers of DMCs about assets and departments that whether the departments would work under DMCs or those departments would be run under KMC.He said that controversial matters between KMC and DMCs would be decided by Local Government.He said the administrators of ZMCs had been delegated the powers of council and would be eligible to pass resolution on any matter.He said the list of employees of different departments who have to be shifted in DMCs should be prepared in two days.He...
