LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial Tuesday stopped Ministry of Religious Affairs from allocating five percent quota of private Haj group organisers (HGOs).The chief justice also directed the Ministry to complete scrutiny of old HGOs and submit report regarding them by May 14.The chief justice passed the orders on petitions filed by Aqsa Tavels and others against Haj cartelization.Earlier, Additional Attorney General Abdul Hai Gillani and Director Haj Saeed Malik appeared before the court and informed about steps taken on complaints against organisers. They also pointed out that scrutiny of HGOs was in progress.However, the petitioner's counsel expressed apprehensions on scrutiny process.The chief justice directed ministry to complete scrutiny and submit report by May 14. The court also ordered ministry to take steps for allocation of Haj quota to new HGOs who qualify the criteria. Copyright APP (Associated Press of Pakistan), 2013
