Pakistan and Paris museums to join hands for preservation of natural species

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Museum of Natural History and Paris Museum of Natural History are joining hands and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed soon in this regard to help preserve natural species.Besides, Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) has also inked MoU with Centre Science, Orleans-France for arranging and co-producing Expos in Pakistan.Talking to APP, Chairman PSF, Dr. Manzoor H Soomro said PSF in collaboration with Embassy of France is carrying on two programmes including holding international travelling expos and promotion of inquiry-based science education in the country.He said PSF started arranging International Travelling Expos in 2008 in collaboration with Embassy of France in Pakistan and Centre Sciences-Orelans-France.In this regard, Expos on the themes of Mathematics, Environment, Biodiversity and Chemistry have already been held in various cities and towns of Pakistan.This year, keeping in view the importance of Energy Issues, PSF has obtained Travelling Expo titled "Energies, for a Sustainable World" (prepared by Centre Sciences, Orleans-France partners) for showcasing in Pakistan during March-April, 2013, he added.Two-month long Expo will travel from Islamabad to Muzzafarabad (AJK), Gilgit, Abbottabad, Gujrat, Larkana and Quetta.He said students' attention towards resolution of such issues could only be diverted through science popularization through Expos that...
