SALU, Pak, US Alumni hold seminar on Academic Exchange Opportunities in US

KHAIRPUR: A one-day seminar on Academic Advising and Exchange Opportunities in the United States was held at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur on Tuesday.The seminar was organised by Pak-US Alumni Network Sukkur Chapter and Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur.SALU Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences Prof Dr. Yasmeen Faiz Kazi presided over the seminar. The Cultural Affairs Officer at US Consulate General in Karachi, Kristin Haworth was the chief guest. Caryn Anderson Information Resource Officer in the US Embassy, Islamabad, Keisha Tons and Prof Dr. Nisar Ahmed Kanhar were the honorary chief guests.Addressing the seminar Prof Dr. Yasmeen Faiz Kazi said that as we know that according to the National Academic Advising Association the academic advising is a series of international interaction with curriculum and a set of students' learning outcomes.She said that academic advising synthesises students' educational experiences with the framework of their aspirations, ability and lives to extend learning beyond campus boundaries and timeframe.She said currently the focus is moving strongly toward recognition and reward of academic endeavour beyond traditional outputs and the creation of economic, societal and policy related impact.There is an increasing requirement of academia to pursue knowledge exchange (KE), she further said.Dr. Yasmeen highlighted the...
