Zulfikarabad Oil Tankers Terminal to help reduce heavy traffic

KARACHI: KMC Administrator Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi has said that construction works including water tank, shops, mosques, parking area of KMC at Zulfikarabad Oil Tankers Parking Terminal have been completed.The works to be done by different oil companies have been delayed and as soon as these works are completed the oil tankers would start parking here, he said this while talking to media men in his office here on Wednesday, said a statement.He said that infrastructure for more than 10 thousand people was available and 2375 oil tankers could be parked on Zulfikarabad Oil Tankers Parking Terminal which was being completed at a cost of Rs 313 million.He said the levelling/ dressing of 200 acre land at Zulfikarabad Oil Tankers Parking Terminal has been done where 6 to 8 feet of ground at various locations was filled with soil whereas Rs 700 million would be required for construction of the second phase for which a request would be made to the Sindh Government.The Administrator Karachi said that construction of this terminal would help minimise environmental pollution along with public interest and especially the problem of parking of a large number of oil tankers near Shirin Jinnah Colony would be resolved...
