IRSA releases 224,267 cusecs for rim stations

ISLAMABAD: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Thursday released 224,267 cusecs water for various rim stations with inflow of 242,376 cusecs.According to the data released by IRSA, water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Dam was 1415.30 feet, which was 37.30 feet higher than its dead level of 1378 feet.Water inflow in the dam was recorded as 87,300 cusecs and outflow as 96,200 cusecs.The water level in the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam was 1133.20 feet, which was 93.20 feet higher than its dead level of 1040 feet whereas the inflow and outflow of water was recorded as 62,009 cusecs and 35,000 cusecs respectively.The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 169,258, 132,534 and 47,505 cusecs respectively.Similarly, from the Kabul River a total of 62,600 cusecs of water was released at Nowshera and 30,467 cusecs from the Chenab River at Marala.Copyright APP (Associated Press of Pakistan), 2013
