Pakistani economy to take off soon

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's High Commissioner in Singapore Syed Hasan Javed has stated that time has arrived for Pakistan's economy to take off with the help of the People's Republic of China and other trusted friends.He expressed these views while addressing a group of prominent Pakistani Expatriate Investors at his Embassy Residence, said a message received here from Singapore.The ambassador said that being the last major untapped market with rich resource and endowments, Pakistan had trillions of dollars of minerals and agriculture and energy resources including coal, hydel, wind, solar, Shell gas."Pakistan has young demographic profile, touristic landscape, maritime wealth, diverse weather and climatic conditions, rich cultural heritage, resilient population, social capital, strategic location, talent, English education, dynamic expatriate population, energy rich neighborhood, legal system, civil society and vibrant media. Pakistan is the best blessed and placed country in the world," he added.The envoy urged the government to undertake reforms in every field of activity for renaissance, renewal and revival."A mindset change is needed. The leadership, policies and values are at the core of transformation of any society," Javed added."Pakistan has waited long enough. It is now time to take hard decisions on economy and governance.
